Method. Chained, matched-model Jevons index over a designated panel of Canadian reference stores. Each price uses the panel designation in effect when Vynn observed it. Later panel changes do not rewrite earlier weeks. Each link compares the same grocery items across two measured weeks. The link is the geometric mean of their price relatives. A week without enough usable matches carries the previous value and does not become the base of the next link. The series starts at 100 in the first week with enough usable items. Only completed weekly observations can move the index.
